Does UW Credit Union sell US savings bonds?

The Bureau of the Public Debt has decided to end the sale of paper savings bonds at financial institutions. UW Credit Union will no longer be selling savings bonds as of December 26, 2011. This decision supports the U.S. Department of the Treasury's goal to increase the number of transactions consumers are able to do electronically, which will save taxpayers approximately $70 million over the first five years. Savings bonds, however, are not going away. Electronic savings bonds in Series EE and I will be available through TreasuryDirect®, a secure, web-based system. UW Credit Union will still be able to redeem bonds. Find out how much your bond is worth. »
